Ruckus in the Bearbrush

Music and Tales of Appalachia

Ruckus in the Bearbrush is an Appalachian Mountain band presenting a wholesome, family friendly, and soul-fulfilling show to communities.

The show consists of music and stories from the Appalachian territories of the United States. The band plays a range of Mountain, classic and modern folk, and even original tunes. They also please audiences with humorous stories, folk tales, and delightful historical facts. The band prides itself on bringing forth the historical character of the region and culture with their use of traditional instruments, relaying well loved music and stories of the hill country, and playing a historical development of folk music from the civil war to the more recent eras of the 1970s. Audiences will find themselves enticed to dance, clap, and sing along. They will be transported to a simpler time that has been almost forgotten.

The band has developed 3 shows to choose from throughout the year. A traditional presentation of music and dance runs January through November. December 1 to the 22nd, they present Christmas in Appalachia; and March 1 to March 30th the band focuses heavily on the Scotch-Irish immigration movement to the mountains. In each of these shows champion dancers join when available.
